Theywere nice and well performed. The nextmeeting is scheduled for November 17 th at 6pm. The choir will be performing.Please markyour calendars!   Report Card Conferences By Jerrell K. Smith  On Tuesday, November 17, 2009 reportcards will be distributed. Parents can come toreceive their student's report card as well as meetwith teachers to discuss their student's progress.Conference time is 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Any studentwho is 18 years old may pick up his/her report card.If report cards are not picked up they will be mailedthe following day, Wednesday, November 18, 2009. Hoodies By Sytira Haigler  “Hoodies” are not permitted in HOPECharter School. This is a safety issue. Wearinghoodies allow the students to hide their identity. Ifa hoodie is worn to school by a student, thestudent will be asked to remove the hoodieoutside of the school building. School staff is not  responsible for the hoodies. So, save you andyour child from the worries; remember hoodies arenot permitted in the school! While under the supervision of Mr. KamauStanford, we are excited to see all the greatchanges our government will make. Themembers and their positions consist of: Katrina Scott – Class President Ashley Alston – Vice President Chelsea Grasty – Class Treasure Shana-Marie Waters – Class Secretary Senoria Smith - 12  th  Grade rep. AMelissa Epps - 12  th  Grade rep. B Miosha Ximines - 11 th  Grade rep.Kayla Madden - 10  th  Grade rep. At this point, we do not have a ninth graderepresentative due to the lack of applicants.Anyone interested in becoming the ninth graderepresentative, please talk to Mr. Stanford. By Deyona Lively  On Friday, October 30, 2009, HOPECharter High School is having a HauntedHalloween party. It will be hosted andpresented by Student Government. Admissionis $4.00 with costume and $5.00 withoutcostume. This dance is for HOPE Charterstudents only!   Daily Arrival   By Shkeem Brown    Morning searches will continueeveryday so make sure to get to school earlyenough to get to class on time. All studentsarriving to school after 9:00 will be consideredlate and will not be allowed to go to class.Mrs. Bucher is a new art teacher atHOPE. Before she worked here she was atherapist. She hopes that more kids createthings that they will be proud of. She wantsthe students to learn more about ways theycan express themselves.Mr. Petit is the French teacher atHOPE Charter School. He used to teach atPennwood High School. He says, “I definitelylike it here. For me it's a different atmosphereand experience. My last two years teachingwere in the suburbs. I expect all of mystudents to treat me with respect, be on timeand ready for class. In return, I will providethem with the best education for a betterfuture. “Ms. Oronzio is the new 9th gradePhysical Science teacher here at HOPECharter. She said, “It's good to come to a newschool because you experience new things.”She has taught in many other schools such asNorristown Senior High School, andRoosevelt Jr. High School. She chose toteach at HOPE because of the mission of theschool.Ms. Alvarez gained her passion forhigh-school students and mathematics whileattending Central High School of Philadelphia.She has been a teacher for 3 years. She lovesHOPE Charter School because the studentsare delightful and hungry for positive influenceand growth. The staff and administration aresupportive and friendly. I feel welcomed andhumbled to be a part of this blossoming placeof learning. Prepare To Be Scared By James Bailey  On Friday, October 30, 2009, HOPECharter will be hosting their second annualHaunted House. This is presented by Ms. Baconand the drama class. This Haunted House willbe open to the public from 3:00-6:00. Admissionis $2.00. Candy will be provided. School-agedstudents are encouraged to attend. Prom Prom tickets cost $60.00 perperson and $100.00 per couple. Allpayments should be given to Ms.Fleming in the guidance area   Senior YearUpcoming Events By Keyana Glover  Class Dues Class dues are $100.00 whichincludes your cap & gown,yearbook, and graduation tickets.Each student will receive ten tickets.All payments should be paid to Ms.Brown in the main office by Friday,May 1, 2010.
